Lauren NewmaN
Physiotherapist
Lauren graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2017, launching her career with a commitment to providing high-quality care to the diverse communities of Canberra. Over the years, she has worked in various clinical settings, gaining invaluable experience in a multi-disciplinary clinic where she collaborated with professionals across many healthcare fields. This exposure to different perspectives and techniques has shaped her practice, enabling her to integrate evidence-based methods from multiple disciplines into her treatment approach.
A lifelong learner, Lauren has always been dedicated to expanding her knowledge and skills. She actively seeks opportunities to learn from her peers and mentors, using their insights to enhance her practice and deliver the best possible outcomes for her patients. Her extensive clinical experience has equipped her to handle a wide range of conditions, and she tailors each consultation to meet the individual needs of her patients. By fostering a collaborative environment, Lauren ensures that her patients are active participants in their own care, empowering them to achieve their health and wellness goals.
In addition to her physiotherapy expertise, Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Medical Science, which provided a strong foundation in biochemistry and sparked her interest in women’s health. Before transitioning into physiotherapy, she began her career in the fertility field, where she developed a deep understanding of the complex physiological processes that impact women’s health
across different life stages. This background has been instrumental in shaping her approach to physiotherapy, particularly in her work with women experiencing pelvic health issues, mastitis, and lactation challenges.
Lauren has pursued advanced training in these areas, completing several specialized courses in pelvic health, mastitis, and lactation management. She is passionate about helping women navigate these often-overlooked aspects of health and works to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take control of their health. Her holistic approach addresses both the physical and emotional components of recovery, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive, compassionate care.
When she’s not in the clinic, Lauren enjoys spending time on outdoor adventures with her young family, as well as reading and crocheting.
